But why Merino Wool?
Merino Wool is such a a valuable item for an avid hiker/backpacker for being so versatile. It is lightweight, and also great for regulating body temperature while being active. As a hiker myself, I always look for quality products that will endure the beating of the outdoors, but also serve more than one purpose and is practical in its use. This material checks all those boxes! Let me explain.
Merino Wool is a naturally occurring fiber that comes from Merino Sheep, and is thin, soft, and durable. In addition, it is more comfortable and less irritating than regular wool clothing. Wool has natural wicking capabilities for sweat or moisture which helps keep you dry and warm, or even cool. It dries fast, and is an excellent insulating layer for colder temperatures. Personally, I use merino wool pajamas while backpacking and I have no complaints!

As a small business owner myself, I am passionate in supporting businesses that directly help people and put food directly on their table. Therefore, I use 100% superwash merino wool that I purchase from a small business owned and run by women. Although the price point may be a little higher than at a large corporation, please realize that your new purchase will be hand-made in every regard. These women hand-dye the yarn, and I personally crochet them. Your purchase will also directly impact my livelihood, and in turn directly impact the people involved in the creation of the dyed yarn. Your purchase is so appreciated!
